On 05-08 November 2019, the meeting of Working Group 4 (WG4) of COST Action CA OC-2017-1-22010 WECANet "A pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with a focus on Wave Energy" took place at the Maritime University of Szczecin . The meeting concerned plans and development directions of solutions regarding non-technical aspects of the development of sea wave energy converters. Currently, 31 partner countries participate in the COST action.
A delegation from Zhejiang Ocean University in China has visited the Maritime University of Szczecin again. Representatives of the Chinese university met with the authorities of MUS to discuss the final shape of cooperation between the universities, which is to begin already in the next academic year (2019/20).
In the period 16-25 January 2019, the sixth session of the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communication and Search and Rescue (NCSR) of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) was held in London under the supervision of Mr Ringo Lakeman from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Laboratory has been established in the Marine Machines and Devices Department of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
In the period 3- 7 December 2018, the 100th Session of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization was held in London.
The University Electoral Commission kindly informs the community of the Maritime University of Szczecin that, on 29.11.2018, the University Electoral College of the Maritime University of Szczecin, in the supplementary elections for the term of office of 2016-2020, elected Arkadiusz Tomczak, PhD. Eng., Master Mariner to the post of Vice Rector for Maritime Affairs.
